A WOMAN from Worcester has qualified for the Hyrox World Championships.
Beth Lloyd finished third in the women’s 16 to 24-years-old pro solo category at Hyrox London Olympia.
The 23-year-old posted a time of one hour, 14 minutes and 14 seconds to secure her place at the World Championships in Chicago next month.
Hyrox combines running and functional workout stations where participants run for one kilometre followed by one functional workout station repeated eight times.
Lloyd said: “Hyrox is an incredible sport and I’d love to see more women getting involved.
“It’s all about strength, power and endurance and I feel empowered as a young woman competing in a sport that encourages this.
“The Hyrox community is a wonderful place to be, full of encouragement, respect and love for the sport and there’s nothing quite like the buzz of competing in a sporting competition like this.
“It’s very intense but I feel incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved and excited to represent England all the way in Chicago.”
Fitness fanatics from across the country took part in the event.
The World Championships take place in Chicago, United States of America between June 12 and June 15.
