WORCESTER City romped to a 4-1 victory against a Walsall XI as the club continued their winning start to pre-season.
Goals from Harry Burns, Liam Lockett and two trialists earned City a convincing victory against a youthful Saddlers side at Sixways Stadium.
City dominated proceedings early on and deservedly took the lead on 21 minutes when a trialist rose highest to head in a long throw.
And Burns doubled Worcester’s lead 10 minutes later with an effort from the edge of the penalty area which found the bottom corner.
Walsall halved the deficit four minutes before half time after a visiting player turned home a cross into the box from the left.
However, City restored their two-goal cushion after the break when a trialist produced a composed finish with the outside of his boot.
And Lockett completed the scoring later in the second period as he reacted quickest to fire home after Walsall failed to clear their lines.
Worcester continue their pre-season campaign against Malvern Town on Friday, July 10 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Sixways Stadium.
