WORCESTER Wolves have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season after completing the signing of American guard Sean Park.

The 24-year-old comes to Worcester fresh from California’s Chico State University where he helped the Wildcats reach the ‘Elite Eight’ of the NCAA Division II tournament – the best achievement in the school’s history.

Park will now join his team mates preparing for the new season which starts next month (September 26) when Wolves face reigning BBL Championship winners Newcastle Eagles away from home.

Park becomes the club’s latest summer signing following the arrivals of Chavis Holmes, Donatas Visockis and fellow American Robert Thurman.

In his final season as a Wildcat, Park averaged thirteen points per outing as well as pulling down five rebounds and serving up a couple of assists.

The 6ft 4ins guard said he was delighted to be moving to Wolves especially after their most successful season last year which saw them win the BBL Trophy and the BBL Playoffs.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Wolves,” he said. “As a rookie, it was important for me that I become a part of a winning situation.

“I look forward to doing whatever I can to help bring a championship to Worcester.”

Worcester Wolves director of basketball Paul James added: “Sean is a player that will fit in well to our system and contribute to our team ethos. He knows how to put the ball in the hole and will be an asset and extend the depth of our team.”
