WORCESTER Warriors have been rocked by the news that back row ace Jake Abbott could be out of action for up to six months due to injury.
The 25-year-old, who has made 11 appearances this season, is set to go under the knife after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.
The flanker, who came through the club’s youth system, left the field after 20 minutes of Warriors’ LV= Cup clash against Leicester Tigers last Friday.
Director of tugby Ryan said: “The loss of Jake leaves a big hole in the squad and we will miss his relentless energy on the pitch.
“However I have no doubt that Jake will approach this challenge with the same determination and commitment that he always displays around the club.”
