WORCESTER Wanderers suffered their heaviest defeat of the season as National Three South West leaders Lydney powered to an emphatic 53-7 win.

Taitosi Lacabuka was the pick of the scorers as he racked up a hat-trick in his side’s eight try rout at Regentsholm.

The wing also opened the scoring with a try inside the first three minutes, while Wanderers struggled to get out of their own half.

Dave Bennett and Dewi Scourfield also went in the first half to give Lydney a comfortable 22-0 lead at the interval.

The second period was more of the same with the hosts dominating posession as they added two further tries from Anthony Wicks and Lacabuka.

Despite the deficit, Wanderers rallied and managed to open their account when Jake Saddington crossed the whitewash which Tom Biggs converted.

But this failed to halt Lydney’s scoring spree as Jack O’Connell and Charles Daniel went over in quick succession before Lacabuka completed his hat trick with a try in the final five minutes.
