Vase clash to kick off football resumption for City

Worcester Editorial 26th Nov, 2020   0

A TRIP to Shepshed Dynamo will mark Worcester City’s return to action when the Coronavirus lockdown next week, club chiefs have confirmed.

City will take to the field for the first time since the 3-2 reverse at Gresley Rovers on October 17 when they tackle Dynamo in the FA Vase second round next Saturday (December 5).

Non-league football below the National League North and South has been suspended during the lockdown which began on November 5.

City saw three fixtures postponed before lockdown after a number of players and coaching staff testing positive for Covid-19.

In a bid to improve match sharpness, City will also face Wolverhampton Sporting in a friendly on Tuesday, December 8.

The Blue and Whites will then embark on a hectic fixture schedule which kicks off with two home games at Claines Lane on December 12 and 19 when Coventry United and Heather St John’s are the respective visitors
