WORCESTER City welcome Gainsborough Trinity to Aggborough on Saturday to kick off a busy festive period for the Blue and Whites.

City headed north on Tuesday for the re-arranged FA Trophy first round tie at Southport which was postponed on Saturday due to the wet weather and came away with a creditable 0-0 draw.

Joint managers Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner had an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from with the winners of the tie facing a long trip to Dover Athletic in the second round. The replay is set to take place on Tuesday (December 22)

Following the Trophy clash, it’s back to league businesses with the visit of 10th-placed Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday (December 19).

The Blue and Whites then play four games in seven days with a visit to Gloucester City for the eagerly-awaited Boxing Day clash followed by a home game with Brackley Town on December 28.

City round off the festive period with the return clash at Aggborough against Gloucester, knowing a sack full of points over Christmas will see them climb the National League North table.

The Blue and Whites have also confirmed their recently postponed game against Bradford Park Avenue has now been rearranged.

The game at Aggborough was postponed on December 8 due to Bradford’s FA Trophy commitments but now has been rearranged for Tuesday, January 19.
