CENTRE Ben Te’o has been named in England’s 45-man Elite Player Squad (EPS) ahead of the Autumn Internationals against South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia.

England head coach Eddie Jones, who watched Te’o score his debut try for Warriors from the stands at Sixways against Gloucester last month, selected the Warriors player to join his squad for a three-day training camp in Brighton this week.

Te’o, who has been out of action for the Sixways side since taking a knock to the head in the Gloucester match, is one of six uncapped players to be picked ahead of the Old Mutual Wealth Series, which begins at Twickenham against South Africa on Saturday, November 12.

Jones said: “The Autumn Internationals will be a big challenge and the players will need to step up to the mark.

“With a number of players missing through injury, it’s a good opportunity for others to put their hands up and show us what they’re made of.

“I think it’s a good situation to be in. Injuries allow us to strengthen the depth of our squad and develop robustness. Ideally, by the Rugby World Cup in 2019, we’re looking to have three players in every position who are interchangeable.”

The final EPS squad will be announced on Wednesday, October 26.
