PROMISING forward Ted Hill has been named in the England under 18s squad to tour South Africa.

The Warriors academy youngster will pull on the national jersey for a three-game series against France under 18s this Friday, South Africa Schools A on Tuesday and South Africa Schools next Saturday.

The Worcester Sixth Form College student has had an impressive start to Warriors’ pre-season, having recently scored a try against Newcastle Falcons in the Singha Premiership Sevens.

The England squad will be coached by John Fletcher, Peter Walton, Mark Luffman and Russell Earnshaw.

Fletcher, Rugby Football Union’s national academy development manager, said: “The tour gives us an opportunity to play in a different environment in the Southern Hemisphere, against a very tough opposition.

“It also gives this group of players an opportunity to bond and for us to see how they adjust away from home.

“There will be different challenges as the opposition will pose different problems. Our aim is to adapt and come up with the solutions to those problems.

“We’ll stick to our principles in defence and attack and we expect the players to adapt on the field. The plan is to give the players a full tour experience, which is crucial to their development.”
