Team News: Warriors to use two teams in Hartpury clash

WARRIORS will look to use up to 37 players during their pre-season opener against Hartpury RFC at Sixways tomorrow (kick-off 4pm).

New signings David Denton, Peter Stringer, Ethan Waller, Pierce Phillips, Simon Kerrod, Sam Olver and Tom Howe are all set to feature for Worcester, who will be fielding two different teams during their game with the newly-promoted Championship outfit.

Ryan Bower, Jack Singleton and Nick Schonert will occupy the front row in the first-half, whilst Darren Barry and Phillips start in the second row.

GJ van Velze returns from a lengthy injury lay-off in the back row alongside Sam Lewis and Denton.




Luke Baldwin and Tom Heathcote form the half-back combination with Jackson Willison and Wynand Olivier in midfield, while Josh Adams, Ben Howard and academy youngster Alex Hearle occupy the back three.

In the second-half, Waller, Matti Williams and Kerrod will head up the front row, with Donncha O’Callaghan and Will Spencer forming the second-row partnership.


Huw Taylor, Dewald Potgieter and Matt Cox will occupy the back row.

Jonny Arr lines up with Olver in the backs, whilst Will Butler and Bryce Heem link up in midfield.

The back three sees Jamie Shillcock, Dean Hammond and Howe looking to make their mark, while Stringer is named on the bench.
