WARRIORS’ Max Stelling has been selected to play for England Sevens in the Hong Kong leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series.
The 22-year-old centre, left, will make his England debut against South Africa, Scotland and Russia in the pool stages of the event which takes place from Friday, April 8 to Sunday, April 10.
The Sixways star, who has recently been training with the England Sevens programme, has played in five of Warriors’ European Rugby Challenge Cup games this campaign, as well as featuring in the full 80 minutes against the Barbarians last September.
England Sevens head coach, Simon Amor, said: “It’s an interesting year as our focus has to be on what is right for both England Sevens and Team GB preparations. We have to manage the demands on players and in doing that we are giving young guys opportunities as well.
“Max travelled with us to Vancouver and now has his chance to experience playing on the World Series.
“We have a good relationship with Worcester and are grateful to them for allowing us to work with Max.”
