ACADEMY youngster Jamie Shillcock has committed his future to Warriors by signing his first professional contract with the club.
The 19-year-old, who can play at scrum-half, fly-half or full-back, has impressed head coach Carl Hogg since making his Aviva Premiership debut against Bath last month.
He had a debut to remember, having assists to two tries and making two try-saving tackles.
The versatile back went onto score a brace of tries in his maiden Sixways start against Sale Sharks, including a sublime solo effort when he sprinted 60 metres downfield to the whitewash.
His recent run of form has also prompted a recall to the England Under-20 squad.
“It’s a dream come true to sign a professional first-team contract at my childhood club,” said Shillcock.
“It’s been a surreal start to the campaign and I’m delighted with how things have gone. There’s no place I’d rather be and I hope I can now push on and help this club reach its goal in becoming one of England and Europe’s top teams.”
Hogg said: “Jamie has been presented with a fantastic opportunity in the early stages of this season and he’s grabbed it with both hands.
“It’s not easy to step up to the pace and intensity of the Premiership, but as a teenager, he’s shown tremendous composure and ability at the top level.
“We’re delighted he’s recognised Sixways is a place where young players can learn, develop and grow through the facilities and infrastructure, as well as get opportunities.
“We look forward to working with him over the coming years to try and help him realise his full potential.”
