WORCESTER Warriors suffered an agonising last-minute 34-31 defeat away at Doncaster Knights.
Warriors trailed by 15 points at the break as Will Trewin scored the away side’s only try of the first half at Castle Park.
Tries from Jake Garside, who touched down twice, Tim Anstee and Billy Twelvetrees after the break looked to have snatched the points for Warriors.
However, Jordan Olowofela crossed for Doncaster with the clock in the red to deny Worcester at the death.
The result means Worcester sit fourth in the Champ Rugby table as Warriors came away from the fixture with two bonus points.
Doncaster took an early lead as fly-half Russell Bennett kicked a penalty just three minutes into the contest.
And Bennett kicked another penalty on 13 minutes before Worcester crossed for the game’s first try.
Worcester spread the ball to Alfie Garside on the left wing who broke clear before passing to Trewin who dotted down on the quarter-hour mark as Tiff Eden added the extras.
Bennett kicked a further two penalties to put the home side back in front before Worcester lost Twelvetrees to the sin-bin on the half-hour mark.
And Doncaster scored their first try just two minutes later as Connor Edwards collected a chip over the top to score and Bennett kicked the extras.
Worcester’s ill-discipline continued to prove costly as Bennett kicked his fifth penalty of the half to send Doncaster into the break with a 15-point lead.
Howerver, Warriors scored their second try on 46 minutes when Anstee intercepted a pass out wide and raced to the line.
The visitors crossed again on 53 minutes as J Garside pounced on a loose ball and collected his own kick ahead to dot down.
Worcester completed the turnaround on 71 minutes when J Garside received Tom Seabrook’s looping pass to score his second try of the game after Doncaster lost Morgan Jones to the sin-bin.
However, Doncaster reclaimed the lead on 76 minutes as former England wing Semesa Rokoduguni touched down in the corner.
Worcester stunned the home side three minutes later when Twelvetrees burrowed over from close range and Eden converted to give the visitors a two-point lead with moments left to play.
However, there was still for one final twist as Olowofela crossed out wide for the home side with the clock in the red to deny Worcester at the death.
Worcester are next in action against London Scottish on Friday, October 31 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Sixways Stadium.
