WORCESTER Warriors have signed former England international Billy Twelvetrees as a player-coach next season.
The 36-year-old made 22 appearances for England between 2013 and 2015.
He also earned a place in the British and Irish Lions squad for their 2013 tour of Australia.
Twelvetrees said: “Joining Worcester Warriors as a player-coach is a fantastic opportunity.
“I’m excited to contribute both on and off the field, helping to develop talent and bring real energy to the squad.
“It’s a challenge I’m ready for and I can’t wait to get started.”
Warriors head coach, Matt Everard added: “Billy is one of those special people that, after spending just a short amount of time with, you will never forget.
“He’s kind, incredibly hard-working and always has such a positive impact on people.
“He is someone I feel very grateful to be working with every day and I look forward to welcoming him and his family to Sixways.”
Twelvetrees began his career with Bedford Blues before joining Leicester Tigers in 2009.
He won the Premiership title in his first season with the Tigers and finished as runner-up in each of the next two campaigns.
He later joined Gloucester in 2012 and remained with the club for over a decade until 2023.
Twelvetrees became club captain in the 2014/15 season and led Gloucester to their second European Challenge Cup title scoring a try in the final.
The centre/fly-half registered 927 points in 252 appearances for Gloucester.
Twelvetrees finished his playing career with Ealing Trailfinders in the Championship, winning the league title with the capital club.
He retired from rugby in June 2024 but could now return to the pitch in a player-coach capacity with Worcester.
