WORCESTER Warriors romped to a 56-28 bonus point win against Ampthill as the home side ran in eight tries.
The trio of Jasper Spandler, Matt Kvesic and Will Trewin all crossed twice while Tiff Eden and Tim Anstee also touched down at Sixways Stadium.
Ampthill came away with a bonus point as Oscar Wilson dotted down twice and Totoa Auvaa and Mason Cullen also struck for the visitors.
And the result means Worcester sit third in the Champ Rugby table, three points behind Ealing Trailfinders and Caldy who boast perfect records.
Warriors scored the game’s first try after just five minutes as Spandler marked his first start for the club with a try from a driving maul.
However, Ampthill responded on 16 minutes when Wilson crashed over following a lineout close to the Worcester line.
And Wilson dotted down again four minutes later as he supported Seva Kava’s run and raced over in the corner.
Warriors drew level on 23 minutes when Spandler scored his second try of the game from another driving maul.
Ampthill reclaimed the lead five minutes later as Auvaa crashed over from close range.
However, the visitors then lost Kennedy Sylvester to the sin-bin following a head-on-head collision with Khalik Kareem.
And Warriors made the most of the extra man on 35 minutes as Kvesic crossed from another dominant driving maul.
Worcester struck again on the stroke of half time as debutant Trewin scored out wide to earn a bonus point for Warriors and give the home side a seven-point lead at the break.
Matt Everard’s side scored their fifth try just two minutes into the second half when Eden pounced on a bouncing ball over the Ampthill try line.
Warriors crossed again on 50 minutes as Anstee received the ball out wide and cut inside of a defender to score.
And the home side blitzed their opponents with a third try in the space of 11 minutes when Trewin dotted down his second of the game after good work from Jake Garside and Tom Seabrook.
Ampthill scored their bonus point try on 65 minutes as Cullen intercepted a pass and ran in from the halfway line before the visitors lost Charles Rylands to a yellow card for a dangerous tackle.
Warriors had the last laugh as Kvesic scored his second try with the clock in the red from close-range following a quick tap penalty.
Worcester are next in action against Doncaster Knights on Saturday, October 25 with kick-off at 2.30pm at Castle Park.
