WORCESTER Warriors dropped to third in the table following a 28-14 home defeat against play-off rivals Bedford Blues.
Warriors slipped below Bedford in the Champ Rugby table as the Blues completed a league double over Worcester at Sixways Stadium.
Tries from Hallam Chapman and Will Trewin proved in vain for Warriors as Bedford crossed twice either side of half time.
The result means Worcester sit third in the table, four points behind Bedford in second.
Both teams wrestled for momentum in the opening exchanges before torrential rain led to a series of handling errors.
However, Bedford scored the game’s first try on 19 minutes when Amena Caqusau intercepted a pass out wide and crossed under the posts as Will Maisey converted.
Bedford crossed again five minutes later as Alex Day dotted down after Lucas Titherington broke the line while Maisey added the extras.
Warriors responded on the stroke of half time when Chapman burrowed over for his fifth try of the season as Tiff Eden converted.
The Blues struck again after the break on 52 minutes as Adamson finished in the corner and Maisey kicked a third conversion.
The home side kept themselves in the game on 65 minutes when Trewin received Eden’s offload and cut through the Bedford defence to score as the latter kicked the extras.
However, after Maisey missed with a penalty attempt, Adamson scored his second try of the game two minutes from time to seal the points for Bedford.
Worcester are next in action against Chinnor on Saturday, April 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Kingsey Road.
