WORCESTER Warriors ran in nine tries to claim a come-from-behind bonus point 61-14 win away at bottom club Cambridge.

Warriors trailed by 14 points in the first half only for Matt Everard’s side to draw level at the break at Ellgia Fields.

The visitors ran in seven second-half tries to secure a bonus point victory as Jake Garside and Will Trewin both crossed twice.

And Austin Wallis, Roma Zheng, James Tyas, Matt Kvesic and Tim Anstee all touched down while Will Reed kicked eight conversions.

The result means Worcester sit second in the Champ Rugby table, seven points behind unbeaten league leaders Ealing Trailfinders.

Cambridge went into the game on the back of seven straight defeats with the home side the only team yet to win a game in the division this season.

However, the hosts stunned Worcester on 15 minutes when Eli Caven crashed over the line following a lineout and Otumaka Mausia converted.

And Cambridge struck again seven minutes later as British Army wing Taitusi Qaniuci strolled to the line after stepping past the last defebder as Mausia kicked the extras.

Worcester responded three minutes later when Garside received Anstee’s pass and dotted down for a converted try.

And Warriors levelled the game on 31 minutes as Wallis powered over the line from a driving maul and Reed’s successful conversion sent the teams in level at the interval.

Everard’s men picked up where they left off after the break when Zheng finished out wide just five minutes into the second period after Garside proved elusive in the tackle.

And Worcester crossed again two minutes later as Tyas marked his return from injury with a try from close range.

Warriors blitzed Cambridge with a third try in the space of eight minutes when Trewin dotted down Reed’s grubber kick.

The visitors struck again on 56 minutes as Garside crossed for his second try of the game following Tiff Eden’s up and under kick.

And Trewin scored his second try five minutes later when he touched down from Eden’s looping pass.

Worcester captain Kvesic crossed on 64 minutes with a powerful effort from close range.

And Anstee completed the scoring on 70 minutes with a finish in the corner.

Worcester are next in action against Cornish Pirates on Saturday, December 6 with kick-off at 3pm at Sixways Stadium.
