A STUNNING second half comeback at Sale Jets saw Worcester Cavaliers clinch a 27-22 victory and maintain their perfect record in the A League.

Worcester’s second string, who had been on a run of three straight wins, looked set to suffer their first defeat of the campaign as they trailed 22-7 at half time.

Mat Gilbert’s 26th minute try, which Tiff Eden converted was all they had to show for their first half efforts, but the visitors refused to give in.

Two tries in the space of five minutes through Ravai Fatiaki and Gilbert turned the match on its head before solid kicking from Eden steered his side to a remarkable victory on Monday night.

WORCESTER Wanderers continued their rich vein of form with a 48-12 thrashing of Crewe & Nantwick at Weston Fields on Saturday.

The visitors arrived full of confidence as they sat in second position in Midlands One West after a strong start to the season.

But Wanderers were also in fine form having thumped Berkswell & Balsall and Silhillians in recent weeks and they were in no mood to slip up.

After two tries from Olly Meadows put the hosts in control at the break, Worcester stepped things up in the second period.

Crewe struggled to live with their opponents as James Ashton, James Priddey, Callum Partridge and Sam Carter went over, with the latter crossing the whitewash twice, before Jake Saddington scored at the scored at the death.

WARRIORS prop George Porter has joined Greene King IPA Championship Nottingham on loan.

The 25-year-old, who has missed much of the last two seasons through injury, featured in Cavaliers’ victory over Gloucester last month.

But director of rugby Dean Ryan has decided to send Porter, who has made 33 appearances for the club since his switch from Plymouth Albion in 2011, to Nottingham in a bid to secure much-needed game time.

Meanwhile, Worcester have confirmed the signing of Romanian prop Alex Gordas. The 20-year-old arrived at Sixways in the summer after progressing through the junior set up at CSM Olimpia Bucuresti.
