Pennell to miss start of season after suffering neck injury

WARRIORS full back Chris Pennell will miss the start of the new Aviva Premiership season after suffering a neck injury.

The England international, who has made 165 appearances for the Sixways outfit, did not travel to Warriors’ pre-season training camp in Tignes last Tuesday.

High performance director Nick Johnston said: “It’s disappointing to lose someone of Chris’ ability and experience, but our continued focus on squad development means we have players who can take the opportunity to step-up.

“Chris is working closely with our medical department to ensure he can return to fitness as soon as possible.”
