New signing Alo hungry for success

WARRIORS have signed tighthead prop Biyi Alo as injury dispensation cover from Aviva Premiership and European Champions Cup winners Saracens.

With rookie prop Gareth Milasinovich sidelined after rupturing his Achilles tendon last season, Warriors have been allowed to recruit the talented 22-year-old forward, who was part of the Saracens set-up for nearly six years and made his top-flight debut against Harlequins at Wembley last year.

Alo started against Worcester Cavaliers as Saracens Storm claimed the Aviva A League title at Sixways in January 2015, before helping a young Saracens first-team lift the LV= Cup later that year.

After graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in sports science, sport development and sport management, Alo spent time with Old Albanians and also enjoyed a spell with Bedford Blues last season.

On the international front, the tighthead prop was previously part of the England under-20s squad which claimed the 2014 World Rugby Under-20 Championship crown.

Alo said: “I’m really excited about the opportunity to become part of a squad which has gone from strength-to-strength in recent seasons.

“Warriors have real ambitions to move up the Premiership table and that is something I’m hungry to be a part of.”
