WORCESTER Royals will make their debut in the England Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (EMMNA) National Championships this weekend.
The event takes place in Loughborough from August 22 to August 24.
Worcester only launched a an inclusive men’s and mixed team in April earlier this year.
And the Royals are now heading to the National Championships for the first time following an impressive debut campaign in the EMMNA mixed west netball league.
Head coach, Cathy Bedney said: “Since Royals have been established, we’ve worked hard on getting the right atmosphere and team dynamics.
“I am super happy with how the last few months have gone the team have gelled together really nicely both on and off the court.
“The vibe is always positive yet constructive, and we are eager to improve as a team and as individual players.
“These players are like sponges, they are eager to learn and eager to put in a shift which will inevitably make a difference.
“This team now look like they’ve been together for years, and this is what excites me.
“Our goals for Nationals are simple, have fun and be performance proud.
“There is no pressure on us apart from the pressure we put on ourselves.
“We want to show the mixed netball community how far we have come in a short time, and I want to put our name on the map.”
Royals captain, Georgina Harwood added: “The atmosphere and positivity in this team is like nothing I’ve experienced before.
“The love and support is what makes this group so special.
“Cathy is running us harder than ever. Train how you mean to play, and we’ve been training with fire in our bellies.”
