FLANKER Marco Mama is ‘desperate’ to play against his former club on Sunday after admitting the fixture has a lot of ‘emotion’ behind it.
Having initially joined Warriors on loan from Bristol in August 2015, Mama signed a permanent deal in January 2016 before being loaned back to the West Country outfit to help them gain promotion to the Aviva Premiership.
The back row, who had played in all four of Bristol’s Greene King IPA Championship games against Warriors in the 2014/15 season, expects Sunday’s match to be filled with ‘big drama’.
“Our battle with Bristol is similar to that of two years ago at the top of the Championship. But unfortunately, we’re now two sides scrapping it out at the bottom of the Premiership,” said Mama.
“The fixture has always proved to be a good game and is filled with big drama. I’ve chatted to a few of the boys down in Bristol and a lot of the things we’re going through and experiencing, they are too.
“It was frustrating not to have been selected to play against them in December, there’s a lot of emotion for me in the fixture. That’s just the passion that sport brings though.

“We’ve got to start winning games and there’s no better time to do it then now.”
