LIVE updates from our man at Aggborough, Jonny Bonell, where Worcester City get back to Vanarama Conference North action with the visit of Stockport County.

The live update has now finished.

– The game may have ended on a sour note for Worcester – with Khan’s late dismissal – but it was a superb all round performance from the Blue and Whites who completely outplayed Stockport from start to finish. Goals from Mike Symons and Sean Geddes did the damage against Stockport, who also had Jack Ryan sent off in a tempestuous affair. Thanks for following today.

FULL TIME: WORCESTER CITY 2-0 STOCKPORT COUNTY

86min: There will be a substantial period of time added on here. Glover blazes well over much to the delight of the City fans.

85min: RED: Ugly, ugly scenes. Khan receives a red after a horrendous tackle on him by Russell, who is booked, but the defender reacted and threw Russell to the ground. A mass brawl ensued between both sets of fans. Russell subbed straight after. Carl Heeley had to be restrained on the sidelines.

83min: SUB: Duxbury off for Lofthouse for Stockport. Brown and Wright on for Symons and Evans.

81min: Geddes bursts through the middle of a static Stockport defence but curls his effort straight at the keeper.

79min: Yellow card: Moses now in the book for Stockport for a high foot in Deeney.

More on goal: Superb counter-attack from Worcester. Thomas played the ball across his own box to Haynes. Haynes played it up the line to Waldron, Waldron’s first time ball down the line found Evans, his cut back found Geddes on the edge of the box who stroked it into the bottom corner. Great goal.

GOAL: Worcester City 2-0 Stockport County – Sean Geddes

72min: Geddes goes for goal but it is comfortably held by Hurst.

71min: Yellow card: Jacobs the next County player to go in the book after bringing down the pacey Dunkley, who had left his for dead.

67min: Worcester sensing the chance of three points here as Dunkley’s pull back just evades a City player. Deeney also fires wildly past the post.

63min: SUB: Woolfe comes off for Spencer in Stockport’s first change.

62min: RED CARD: Ryan is dismissed for the visitors for a second yellow after going in late on Khan.

61min: Really good football on show here by Worcester. Superb link-up between Dunkley and Geddes results in Geddes’ low drive narrowly avoiding a City touch.

59min: Great effort by Symons as he brings down a Deeney cross on his chest and fires a volley on the turn which Hurst has to tip behind. At the other end Haynes puts in a last ditch challenge to deny Woolfe.

58min: Glover whips in a free-kick which Woolfe reacts quickest to but strikes his effort out of the ground. Best County have offered so far.

54min: Yellow card: Both Thomas and Ryan go in the book for an off the ball incident.

53min: City bossing possession in the early exchanges in the second period but no clear-cut chances to note.

46min: Waldron takes aim from 25-yards and forces Hurst into a diving save. Strong start from Worcester.

Attendance: 731

The teams are back out and the second-half is underway.

– Really impressive first 45 here from Worcester. Stockport had the first opportunity of the game after 3 minutes but since that moment its been all City. They deservedly lead through Symons 38th minute strike after a sublime assist from Geddes. It could be more but City will look to add to their lead after the break.

HALF TIME: WORCESTER CITY 1-0 STOCKPORT COUNTY

44min: Haynes cuts in from the right and tries to bend a left-footed effort but it goes harmlessly past the post. Really good first half from City.

41min: Nearly a quick-fire second from City there as Thomas brought the ball down on the edge of the box and hit a strike on the turn which flew marginally over.

More on goal: Superb chip over the top from Geddes found Symons, who was onside, he took a touch in the box and fired into the far corner.

38min: GOAL: Worcester City 1-0 Stockport County – Mike Symons

35min: What a chance for City. Waldron wins a great header on the right, Geddes flicks it to Dunkley who skips past Moses, his dangerous low ball is blocked away by Lees but only as far as Geddes who curls the ball over the top from about ten yards.

33min: Russell whips a dangerous delivery which Baker heads towards goal but Boot picks the ball out of the air.

32min: Yellow card: Baker picks up the first booking as he goes in very late on Khan.

27min: Moses escapes with just a ticking off following a late challenge on Haynes. The game has everything so far.

26min: Symons makes a nuisance of himself on the edge of the box and fires a shot straight at Hurst.

23min: Great play from Evans who skips past Jacobs and Lees and pulls the ball back for Geddes who cushions a half volley which Hurst has to tip over.

22min: Pace of the game has settled down after a frantic opening ten minutes. Both sides looking dangerous going forward though.

18min: Glover’s corner is fumbled by Boot and headed across the line but the whistle had already been blown for a foul on the keeper. The heavens have suddenly opened in Kidderminster.

15min: Geddes plays in Dunkley on the right side of the box, the winger miscues his shot wide but Duxbury caught him late and brought him down. Half-hearted appeals for a penalty.

10min: More great play from City as Symons sets up Dunkley, he in turn finds Evans but his squared ball can’t find a blue shirt. Carbon copy as Dunkley fails to find a City player in the box. City looking really up for this.

8min: Shortly before Evans’ chance Waldron produced a lung-bursting run from the back to get his side out of trouble. Great composure shown by the youngster.

7min: Great play this time from City sees Geddes square the ball back to Evans but his shot is inadvertently blocked by Symons. Breathless start.

6min: And from the following corner Boot failed to punch Glover’s delivery and the ball was deflected away from the line.

5min: Really good chance for Stockport as Baker plays a one-two with Ryan and burst into the box but his half volley was palmed behind by Boot.

4min: Great recovery from Kyle Haynes who sprints the length of the pitch to tackle Woolfe as County looked to break.

2min: Early pressure from City down the right hand side. Decent sized crowd here today.

1min: City get us underway from left to right in the traditional blue and white while Stockport are in their changed strip of yellow tops and white shorts. An early touch for Glover is greeted by boos from the home faithful.

KICK OFF

The two teams are out and we are about ready to get underway.

– Interesting statistic about on-loan goalkeeper Ryan Boot. In the seven games – over three separate loan spells – he has played for City, he has won six, drawn one and lost none. During those games he has kept five clean sheets and only conceded two goals.

– Carl Heeley makes four changes to the side which overcame Redditch in midweek. Kyle Haynes and Wayne Thomas slot back into defence, replacing Danny Jackman and Jonathan Lynch who both drop to the bench. Daniel Nti, who picked up a nasty knee injury at Redditch, is out of the squad and replaced by Tristan Dunkley on the wing while Mike Symons starts up top in place of Nick Wright. For the visitors, ex-City frontman Danny Glover gets the nod upfront alongside Jack Ryan.

Here are today’s teams:

Worcester City: Ryan Boot; Kyle Haynes, Shab Khan, Jacob Rowe, Wayne Thomas; Dean Waldron, Ellis Deeney (C); Micah Evans, Sean Geddes, Tristan Dunkley; Mike Symons SUBS: Jonathan Lynch, Danny Jackman, Aaron Brown, Nick Wright, Jose Veiga

Stockport County: Danny Hurst; Kyle Jacobs, Scott Duxbury, Tunji Moses, Mark Lees (C); Stephen O’Halloran, Richie Baker, Charlie Russell, Nathan Wolfie; Jack Ryan, Danny Glover SUBS: Chris Churchman, Scott Spencer, Robert Lofthouse, Matthew Todd, Ian Ormson

Referee: Anthony Coggins

– After making it through to the Worcestershire Senior Cup final with a penalty shootout victory over Redditch in the week, Carl Heeley will be looking for his side to continue their recent good form and secure their fourth win in five.

– Welcome to Aggborough, the temporary home of the Blue and Whites, where Carl Heeley’s men will be looking to secure themselves three points against their play-off chasing rivals. To see our preview ahead of the game, click here.
