Worcester Editorial 30th Sep, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

LIVE updates from our man at Aggborough, Jonny Bonell, where Worcester City continue their Vanarama Conference North season against Boston United.

The live update has now finished.

A second half strike from Daniel Nti – his fourth goal of the season – earns Worcester City a point. The striker cancelled out a first-half effort from Coner Robinson. The hosts spent much of the second 45 camped in Boston’s half but couldn’t turn their possession into goals. Thanks for following tonight.

FULL-TIME: Worcester City 1-1 Boston United

90min: Free-kick was worked short to Southwell who slammed an effort which Veiga did well to parry out.

90min: Yellow card: Hutchison in the book for a foul on David Fallah. Free-kick Boston.

90min: End to end finish as both teams go for the win but lack the quality in the final ball.

85min: Kyle Dixon and Dayle Southwell test Jose Veiga but the keeper does well as Steven Leslie comes on in place of McDermott for City.

81min: SUB: Danny Meadows replaces Greg Tempest in Boston’s final change.

77min: SUB: Michael Taylor comes on for Danny Jackman in City’s first change as McDermott drills another effort wide for the hosts.

73min: Tyler Weir  now bursts through the Boston back-line but is denied. The visitors have just brought on David Fallah in place of Conner Marshall.

71min: As i write that Sean Geddes fires an effort from the edge of the box which bounced up and was palmed behind, and again just fired an effort which Farman palmed up and gathered at the second attempt.

70min: 20 to go here as City look to wind the screw on their Conference North rivals, much of the game being played in the Boston half.

60min: Nti once again turns his man on the edge of the box and aims to bend a spectacular effort into the top corner but this one flies wide.

57min: Yellow card – Liam Marrs goes in the book for a foul on Weir.

54min: City really in the ascendency now as they turn defence straight into attack as the pacey McDermott releases Gater who charges in on goal but has his first effort palmed away and the follow-up well saved.

53min: Yellow card – Tyler Weir the first man in the book for a cynical foul on Dixon.

52min: Symons next to try his luck as he cuts in from the left but drills his effort into the side-netting.

More on goal: Nti received the ball on the edge of the box and turned his man well before placing an effort into the bottom corner. Great finish from City’s top scorer.

50min: GOAL: Worcester City 1-1 Boston – Daniel Nti

48min: A lively start to the second period sees Nti have a half-volley from the edge of the box well blocked before Conner Marshall balloons an effort well over the bar when well placed.

– Back underway here.

– City will rue there early dominance of possession after Danny Jackman twice went close, Coner Robinson slammed home for the visitors on 35 minutes after his initial header was saved by Jose Veiga. It could have been worse for the Blue and Whites who didn’t really test the Boston back-line past the half hour mark.

HALF-TIME: Worcester City 0-1 Boston United

45min: Atmosphere really subdued here at Aggborough and Geddes tries to raise spirits but his half-volley whistles harmlessly over the top.

37min: City close to conceding two in two minutes as Kyle Dixon found space in the box but George Williams put his body on the line to deflect the goal-bound effort behind.

More on goal: Rene Steer did all the hard work down the left, beat Nti with ease and whipped the ball in to Robinson whose initial header was brilliantly kept out by Veiga, but the striker slammed home the rebound.

35min: GOAL: Worcester City 0-1 Boston United – Coner Robinson

32min: The closest we have come to a goal here as Nti rises highest from a Jackman corner but his header is cleared off the line by substitute Marrs.

24min: SUB: Boston – full back Zak Mills appears to be holding his groin as he hobbles off and is replaced by Liam Marrs.

20min: Boston back line were left sweating as a Geddes free-kick whipped straight through the defence and bounced up infront of Farman who flapped at it before getting his foot there first and clearing the danger.

16min: Tyler Weir tried to replicate one of the two spectacular strikes he scored against United on the final day of last season but his effort falls straight into Farman’s arms before Robinson curls one just over for the visitors with their first major attack.

14min: Jose Veiga with his first real involvement in the game and comes off his line quickly to deny Coner Robinson being through on goal.

6min: Nti is brought down on the edge of the box and Jackman steps up but bends his free-kick just wide. The hosts with all the possession so far.

5min: A very slow start here just sprung into life as Jackman goes close for City after jinking past two defenders he drove his effort over the bar from just outside the box.
