LIVE updates from our man at Aggborough, Jonny Bonell, where Worcester City are in Vanarama Conference North action against Barrow.

The live update has now finished.

– ‘We are top of the league’ rings out from the away supporters after the 2-0 victory here trumps AFC Fylde’s 1-1 draw with Hyde meaning The Bluebirds head back to the Conference North summit. Goals from Anthony Wilson and Andy Cook secured the three points for the visitors but not after Geddes had missed an earlier penalty to put City ahead. Not a hatful of chances but Barrow took them when they counted. Thanks for following today.

FULL TIME: WORCESTER CITY 0-2 BARROW

62min: Good number of Barrow supporters cheering here after Hyde draw level at AFC Fylde. The Bluebirds heading back to the top the way things stand.

59min: Geddes balloons a free-kick over the top from out on the left. Good position goes to waste.

58min: Barrow have the ball in the back of the net again but the whistle had long gone for a foul by Wilson on Rowe.

The two teams are back out and the second half is underway.

– The promotion hopefuls lead here at Aggborough at the break thanks to Anthony Wilson’s 35th minute strike. It has been a fairly even first 45 and Sean Geddes should have had the hosts ahead but had his penalty denied by Aaran Taylor.

24min: PENALTY MISSED: Geddes is denied by the spot after being brought down when one-on-one. Taylor guessed right and palms away the effort. Nti heads the rebound over. Livesy booked in the process.

19min: Elvins gets involved at the back post following a Geddes corner, the defender puts the ball back into the box but Nti’s flicked header was always going over.

16min: Barrow with a free-kick fairly central about 25 yards out but Howarth’s effort is woeful and again flies out the Aggborough ground.

13min: Best chance of the game so far as Howarth whips in a dangerous ball from the right and Walker climbs highest but glances his header just wide of the post.

10min: First attempt of the game comes from the visitors as Wilson takes aim but his effort flies out of the ground.

9min: Elvins now back on the pitch for Worcester. Pocket of Barrow fans away to our left making some good noise since the start.

3min: Lively start here at Aggborough as both sides put early pressure on.

0min: Barrow get us underway here kicking from right to left in their reverse strip of yellow and black. City playing in their traditional blue and white.

KICK OFF

The teams are out and we are about ready for kick off.

– Heeley makes two changes from the side which lost against AFC Fylde in midweek with both new signings – Rob Elvins and Jay Denny – going straight into the starting XI. The pair make a return to City from rivals Solihull Moors. Long-term absentee Tyler Weir also makes a return to the squad and is named on the bench.

– Here are today’s teams:

Worcester City: Ryan Boot; Kyle Haynes, Anthony Charles, Rob Elvins, Jacob Rowe; Jay Denny, Ellis Deeney (C); Daniel Nti, Sean Geddes, Tristian Dunkley; Mike Symons SUBS: Nick Wright, Joao Souda, Michael Taylor, Tyler Weir, Jose Veiga

Barrow: Aaran Taylor; Andy Burns, Niall Cowperthwaite, Paddy Lacey, Danny Livesy, Simon Grand (C), Marcus Carver, Sam Sheridan, Jason Walker, Anthony Wilson, Andy Haworth SUBS: Dan Pilkington, Andy Cook, Izak Reid, Alex-Ray Harvey, Lewis Guy

– City will be looking to bounce back from Tuesday 4-0 drubbing at the hands of fellow title hopefuls AFC Fylde and will be hoping for a similar performance as to that of the 3-0 FA Trophy win against The Bluebirds back in November. Sean Geddes became a global sensation during that game follow his ‘rabona’ and will be able to play today despite being sent off in the midweek defeat.

– Welcome to a sunny Aggborough, the temporary home of the Blue and Whites, where Carl Heeley’s men will be looking to secure themselves three points against title-chasers Barrow.
