WARRIORS scrum-half Charlie Mulchrone will join Harlequins for the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership season.
The number nine made the move to Sixways from Rotherham Titans in the summer of 2014 and has gone on to make 42 appearances for the club, which included nine tries in last season’s Greene King IPA Championship promotion-winning campaign.
Qualified to play for both England and Ireland, the Manchester-born British and Irish Cup winner has played a key role in Warriors’ Premiership and European Challenge Cup matches this season.
The 26-year-old said: “I’m delighted to be joining Harlequins. Their brand of rugby is one I’m a huge advocate of and I’m looking forward to contributing to their success going forward.
“I would like to thank Worcester Warriors and will continue to give my all for the club until the end of the season.”
Warriors director of rugby Dean Ryan said: “I’m not surprised Charlie has moved to a big club like Quins. For him to be successful in the Premiership I think Quins is the best model for him.
“They can play the running game at the first opportunity which suits him, where as we have to be more pragmatic by playing the kicking game and sometimes that’s just the difference.
“We’re all sad we weren’t able to get the best out of Charlie here and I’d like to thank him for his services over the past two years.”
WARRIORS scrum-half Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier will also be leaving Sixways this summer to join French side Nevers.
The number nine captained Warriors to lift the Britiszh and Irish Cup last season and played a significant role in the Championship play-offs.
