WORCESTER Wolves director of basketball Paul James has hailed the impact of two of his summer recruits after they both played a big role in helping the club return to the top of the BBL Championship table.
Will Creekmore and Zaire Taylor have been named in the BBL Team of the Week following Wolves’ latest wins against the Manchester Giants and Durham Wildcats over the weekend.
After more than a third through the BBL Championship season, Wolves sit top of the table after collecting 10 wins from their first 13 games.
Second place Sheffield Sharks are two points behind Wolves but have two games in hand over Paul James’ side.
Third placed Leicester Riders sit four points behind with three games in hand but Wolves have the head-to-head advantage over their Midlands rivals.
And James has spoken of his delight with two of the team’s biggest stars of the season after their impressive performances earned recognition.
“What can I say? Will is rock-solid, both mentally and physically,” he said.
“It’s no secret that we look to create situations where we can get the ball to him inside, but he’s the one who still has to finish the play. Week in and week out he delivers.”
“Zaire is undoubtedly a very talented player. Not only did he hit a barrage of threes, but most of them were from way behind the three-point line.
“Every now and again players can have nights when they are on fire. Friday was one of those nights for Zaire.”
Wolves return to action on Friday, December 13 when they face Surrey United in their re-arranged clash at the University of Worcester Arena.
