Injury concerns ahead of Worcester's clash with Guiseley

Worcester Editorial 3rd Mar, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

CARL Heeley will be sweating on the fitness of several key players as his Worcester City side prepare to do battle with promotion-hopefuls Guiseley tonight (Tuesday) at Aggborough.

Tristan Dunkley, who bagged a brace in City’s 3-3 draw at Chorley, and Kyle Haines both picked up knocks in Saturday’s entertaining affair, while Daniel Nti missed the game through a knee injury.

Those three are added to long term absentees Michael Taylor, Connor Gater, Nathan Vaughan and Tyler Weir on the injury list of Heeley’s squad.

Following a draw and a loss in their last two outings, the Blue and Whites have lost pace on the play-off places and currently stand nine points behind tonight’s visitors, who occupy the final top five spot.

Guiseley go into the encounter on the back of a series of mixed results. Their automatic promotion push seems to have halted in the New Year following a run of inconsistent scores which has seen them win four and lose four of their fixtures since January.

Mark Bower’s men came out on top when the two sides met earlier on in the season when a Danny Forrest header sealed a 1-0 victory for Guiseley back in August.
