Hogg: Te'o's time with England will benefit us

HEAD coach Carl Hogg believes Warriors will reap the benefits when Ben Te’o returns from his upcoming England duties in the Autumn Internationals.

The centre, who is currently training with the England squad in Portugal, could make his first international appearance when England take on South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia in the Old Mutual Wealth Series. Summer signing Te’o is part of a 33-man squad named by head coach Eddie Jones for the series.

“I’m delighted for Ben. He suffered a concussion in just our second game of the season against Gloucester, so he’s had a slow start for us, but it’s great he’s been selected for England,” said Hogg.

“We want to create an environment where we have competitive players involved with international rugby. If losing a player for several games whilst on international duty is one of the downsides of that, then you would live with it.

“I hope Ben will be successful for England and hopefully we’ll reap the benefits as a club.”

England open the autumn series against South Africa at Twickenham on Saturday, November 12 and face Fiji the following Saturday.
