FIVE of Worcester Warriors’ brightest prospects have committed their futures to the club by signing new contracts.

Tiff Eden, Christian Scotland-Williamson, Val Rapava Ruskin, Mike Daniels and Ben Sowrey have all signalled their intentions to play their part in the club’s long-term progression after impressing during the 2014/15 campaign.

Director of rugby Dean Ryan said: “This illustrates a real commitment to travel with a squad which is focused on achieving long-term success in the Premiership.

“The average age of these five players is just 21, which highlights the fact that we are dedicated to developing young players who are capable of taking this club forward.”

Eden, 20, has been a major success story for the club this season, racking-up 60 points from seven games at fly-half. That tally includes a 19-point haul in October’s B&I Cup clash at Moseley.

Lock Scotland-Williamson, who made his first-team debut against Leicester Tigers in 2013, played in Warriors’ opening two league games of the season and the 21-year-old said he was looking forward to continuing to getting back in action.

“Dean Ryan and the coaches are fantastic at making young players feel part of Warriors’ future and it is a really exciting time to be playing for the club,” he said.

“I believe this club has a lot of successful times ahead of it and I cannot wait to be part of those.”

Rapava Ruskin, who has previously represented Georgia at Under 19 level and trained with French giants Toulon last season, has been a regular presence at loosehead prop since making his debut against Doncaster Knights in September and has accumulated seven tries in 12 appearances.

The 22-year-old said: “I had no hesitation when it came to signing a new contract as I want to be part of a club which has a very exciting future. I feel I have already developed massively this season, as have many of the other young players, because of the guidance of the club’s coaches.”

Prop Daniels, 22, who joined the club last summer, has consistently been part of first-team match-day squads this season and has already made 13 appearances for Warriors, while 23-year-old hooker Sowrey, who was handed his debut in October’s clash with Nottingham, has made an impact in Worcester Cavaliers’ campaign.

He added: “I have immensely enjoyed the first part of my Warriors career. I feel I can carry on improving at Sixways and play a part in the progression of this club so I am looking forward to the future here.”
