WINGER Bryce Heem has committed his future to Warriors by signing a new contract.

The New Zealander, who made his club debut last autumn, made an impact in his first year in the Aviva Premiership, scoring seven tries in 18 appearances before picking up the club’s ‘Player of the Season’ award.

The 27-year-old was also at the top-end of the Premiership stats tables for carries, metres made, defenders beaten and offloads last season.

Before moving to Worcester, the former All Blacks Sevens star impressed at Super Rugby side Waikato Chiefs and helped them to the semi-finals of the competition in 2015.

Heem was also part of the Auckland side that reached the ITM Cup final of the same year.

“Staying on at Warriors was an easy decision for me and my wife,” said Heem.

“We’ve really enjoyed our first year in Worcester and have made some great friends. I love the team culture.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of making us a top-end side and will try to add value in all areas to help this club reach its goals,” he added.

Head coach Carl Hogg said: “Extending the contract of Bryce is a huge statement of intent from the club.

“Bryce is a top performer who proved himself in the Premiership last season and having someone of his calibre committing themselves to the journey at Sixways is of huge benefit to the club.”
