WINGER Bryce Heem has urged his Warriors team-mates and the supporters to ‘come through this tough period together’ to help the side climb away from the lower end of the Aviva Premiership table.
The loss to London Irish on Sunday leaves Warriors one point off the foot of the table but, with 11 games of the season remaining, Heem insists the club can avoid a nervous end to the campaign.
The 27-year-old’s try after the break at the Madejski Stadium had given Warriors hope of a second half comeback against the Premiership’s basement side.
However, Andrew Fenby’s score and five points from the boot of Shane Geraghty ensured Irish picked up their third win of the season.
“The support for the club has been there throughout the campaign and it’s time for us as players to give back to our fans,” said Heem.
“We’ll definitely need the supporters throughout the next few games and for the rest of the season.
“Our situation calls for character and for everyone to come together as a team, so hopefully we can do that.
“It’s going to be a fight to get out of this situation, but we have a good team.
“We’ve got good players and top class coaches, so everyone just needs to stay on board and help us move in the right direction,” he added.
