EXCITING young fly half Tom Heathcote will be looking to get his promising career back on track when he joins Worcester Warriors in the summer.

The Scotland international, who currently plays for Edinburgh, is widely considered to be one of the most talented young fly-halves in Britain.

Before joining the PRO12 outfit last summer, the 23-year-old rose through the ranks at Bath as he made his debut for the Premiership high-flyers in 2011 after progressing through the club’s academy.

Heathcote has also received international recognition as he represented England through the age groups before committing his future to Scotland, who gave him his first cap against Tonga in November 2012.

The stand-off also made two starts for Scotland in the 2013 summer quadrangular tournament against Samoa and Italy, but this was the last time he featured for his country and Heathcote will be determined to fulfil his international ambitions at Warriors.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Worcester. It is a great opportunity for me to join a club with so much potential and a bright future,” he said.

“Having met with Dean Ryan, he outlined his vision for the club moving forward and it is very much something I want to be a part of and contribute towards.

“With a young squad, great facilities and infrastructure, the club is very attractive to me as a player.”

During his time at Bath he scored 375 points in 53 appearances before moving to Scotland to continue his development and director of rugby Dean Ryan said he was excited to get Heathcote on board.

“I am delighted that Tom has recognised the pathway this club is on and has chosen to play a role in our future as we look to become a successful Premiership side,” he said.

“Tom has experienced international rugby at a young age and has illustrated his talents across different competitions, so I have no doubt he will flourish in the environment we are creating at Sixways.”

WARRIORS academy ace Tiff Eden has gone out on loan to Greene King IPA Championship rivals Nottingham as he looks to return to full fitness.

The 20-year-old has made seven appearances for Worcester this season, but an injury sustained to his hand in December, which resulted in surgery to repair a tendon, ruled him out for two months.

With opportunities likely to be limited over the next few weeks, director of rugby Dean Ryan has decided to accept Nottingham’s request, while Ryan Watkins has been shipped out on loan to Plymouth Albion.
