WORCESTER Raiders slipped to a 4-1 home defeat against promotion-chasing Sporting Club Inkberrow.
Raiders trailed by two goals at the break before Jordan Stoddart halved the deficit for Worcester on the hour mark at Sixways Stadium.
However, substitute Will Skelton restored Inkberrow’s two-goal lead before Jack Tolley struck eight minutes from time for the visitors.
The result means Worcester sit eighth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, two points outside of the play-off places.
Inkberrow broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Leo Brown switched the ball to Tom Emblem who cut inside of his man and fired home from 10-yards out.
And the visitors doubled their lead soon after as Brown powered a shot past Raiders goalkeeper Charlie Emery after good work from Jay Higgins-Pugsley.
Raiders improved after the break and halved the deficit on the hour mark when Stoddart forced the ball over the line at a corner.
However, Sporting all but made sure of the points on 80 minutes as Skelton hammered a shot into the net off the underside of the crossbar.
And Inkberrow struck again two minutes later when Tolley finished Emblem’s perfectly-weighted cross.
Worcester are next in action against Kidlington Reserves in the Marsh Challenge Cup on Friday, January 10 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Sixways.
