WORCESTER City conceded in injury time in a 2-1 defeat at Kettering Town with the club’s play-off hopes now all but over.

An early goal from Harry Burns put the visitors ahead at Latimer Park only for Eddie Panter to draw the home side level before the break.

And Blaine Rowe snatched the points for Kettering in injury time as Worcester’s winless run on the road stretched to five matches.

The result means Worcester sit ninth in the Southern League Premier Central table, five points outside of the play-off places with two matches left to play.

City broke the deadlock after just eight minutes when Burns met Liam Lockett’s cross from the left and guided a header into the net from 10-yards out.

However, Kettering drew level on 19 minutes as Panter lashed a low effort past Sam Kane from the edge of the penalty area.

And the home side completed the turnaround three minutes into injury time when Rowe headed a set-piece from the right into the far corner of the net at the near post.

Worcester are next in action against St Ives Town on Saturday, April 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Sixways Stadium.
