WORCESTER City lost 3-2 away at Grantham Town after surrendering a first-half lead to slip to a third successive league defeat.
Goals from Jordan Lymn and Kyle Belmonte completed a first-half turnaround at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium after Richard Black opened the scoring.
However, Rodrigo Goncalves equalised for Grantham early in the second half before Elliott Keightley’s own goal won the game for the hosts.
The result means Worcester sit seventh in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.
Granhtam broke the deadlock on 14 minutes when Mason Lee kept the ball alive at the back post and Black’s deflected volley from six-yards out found the net.
However, City drew level on 32 minutes as Lymn fired the ball past Jonasz Gadomski after good work from Elliott Hartley inside the box.
And City completed the comeback four minutes before the break when Liam Lockett slipped in Belmonte who drove into the box and drilled a low shot past Gadomski.
The home side equalised just two minutes after the interval as City failed to deal with a high cross in from the right and Goncalves fired the loose ball past Haydn Whitcombe at his near post.
And a calamitous own goal from City skipper Keightley saw Grantham reclaim the lead on 69 minutes.
Keightley attempted to turn Ryan Ebanks’ dangerous low ball in from the right behind for a corner only to divert the ball into his own net from six-yards out.
City spurned a glorious chance to draw level later in the half as Gadomski kept out substitute Cameron Monteith’s diving header from eight-yards out.
Worcester are next in action at home to Hinckley LRFC on Saturday, September 28 with kick-off at 3pm at Claines Lane.
