CHARLIE Lutz scored a late winner as Worcester City secured a third straight league victory with a 2-1 success at Bishop’s Stortford.
Lutz completed the turnaround three minutes from time after Dan Sweeney equalised for City at Woodside Park.
That came after Fabio Virciglio’s goal put the home side ahead early in the second half only for the visitors to stage a late comeback.
The result means Worcester sit eighth in the Southern League Premier Central table, just two points outside of the play-off places.
After a goalless first period, the home side took the lead on 47 minutes when Virciglio finished into an empty net from close range after Sam Kane failed to gather Dempsey Crace’s low ball in from the right.
However, Worcester levelled the game on 70 minutes as Josh Bailey curled a superb pass into the path of Sweeney who coolly found the bottom right corner when one-on-one with Toby Atkins just minutes after his introduction from the bench.
And City stunned the home side on 87 minutes when the ball broke kindly to Lutz in the box and the forward gleefully finished into an empty net
Worcester are next in action against Harborough Town on Saturday, March 7 with kick-off at 3pm at the Community Football Ground.
