WORCESTER City have retained a key defensive trio which helped the club win promotion to Step Three last season.

Charlie Wise, Hayden Reeves and Shay Palmer have all agreed to remain with City for the 2025/26 season.

The trio all played key roles as Worcester won promotion to the Southern League Premier Central via the play-offs last term.

Worcester boss, Chris Cornes said: “Charlie was magnificent for us last season and puts his body on the line week in week out for the team, and that epitomises what I want from my players.

“He has experience at this level, and that will help us no end this season.

“Hayden had a good season, and with his age, he has real potential to step up again in terms of level.

“He’s a great lad around the club and in the dressing room, and easy to work with.

“I’m happy he’s agreed to stay with us, and I am looking forward to working with him again this season.

“Shay was brilliant when he came to the club last season, whether that was at right-back, centre-back or in midfield.

“He’s an aggressive footballer who works his socks off, and I think if he had had the full season with us, he would have been in the running for winning some awards.

“I am delighted he has agreed to stay with us.”

Wise and Reeves both joined City last season as the former scored five goals in 47 appearances while the latter netted four times in 43 matches.

Palmer arrived at City in February and made 16 appearances for the club en route to securing promotion.
