WORCESTER City have made their first summer signing in the form of experienced defender Paul Downing.
Downing arrives following a season-long spell with Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North.
The 33-year-old has made nearly 400 career appearances with the majority coming in the Football League.
Downing came through the youth ranks at West Bromwich Albion before featuring for the likes of Hereford, Barnet, Walsall, Milton Keynes Dons, Blackburn Rovers, Portsmouth and Rochdale.
Worcester manager Chris Cornes said: “Paul’s signing is a huge one for the club and shows our intent with what we want to achieve this coming season.
“Having played the majority of his career in league football, his experience will be invaluable to us.
“He is a local lad as well, so it ticked all of the boxes for us both when we spoke about coming to the club.”
