WORCESTER City ended the campaign with a remarkable 4-4 draw against league runners-up Spalding United on the final day of the season.
City found themselves two goals behind at the interval as Tom Pugh and Bartosz Cybulski put the play-off bound visitors in command at Sixways Stadium
However, Logan Stoddart halved the deficit early in the second half only for Jack Roberts to restore Spalding’s two-goal cushion.
The goals continued to flow as Zac Guinan kept City in the contest before Cybulski’s second of the game looked to have sealed the points for the visitors.
But Worcester staged a late comeback to earn a point as Charlie Lutz and Charlie Wise found the net in a thrilling contest.
The draw means City ended the Southern League Premier Central season in ninth place, seven points outside of the play-off spots.
Spalding broke the deadlock on 31 minutes when Pugh made space for a shot and fired an effort into the bottom left corner from 25-yards out with Sam Kane rooted to the spot.
The visitors doubled their lead three minutes before half time as Cybulski deflected Abduramane Sani’s initial effort into the net from close range.
City halved the deficit just three minutes after the break when Stoddart fired a shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle down the right-hand side of the penalty area.
Spalding regained control of the game on 63 minutes as Roberts lashed a shot over Kane on the slide following a blistering counter attack.
Worcester reduced the deficit again on 70 minutes when Guinan finished on the turn in the box after Spalding failed to clear their lines.
The visitors scored a fourth goal on 73 minutes as Cybulski found the bottom left corner after a cross from the right travelled across the Worcester penalty area.
City responded three minutes later when Lutz lobbed Spalding goalkeeper Dan Wilks following some indecision in the visitors defence.
And Worcester completed the comeback to draw level six minutes from time as Wise poked home following a corner from the right.
