WITH less than one month left to get your nominations in for the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Awards, now is the time to recognise the coaches, volunteers, clubs and sports individuals for the effort and commitment within their sports.
Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire is urging members of the community to put forward candidates who they feel deserve recognition for their sporting achievement and dedication to their sport within the community.
Whether you are a school, community project, individual or club, organisers want to hear about your achievements.
Stephen Brewster, director of the Sports Partnership, said: “Our annual sports awards give us and the two counties a chance to honour our sporting stars, including those who make sport possible such as our coaches and volunteers.
“The awards allow us to celebrate the successes and commitment of sport across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, from those that have excelled in sport to those who have made a difference to their own lives or that of others.
“Recognising sporting achievements and celebrating good practice within the sporting community is at the very heart of what we do and we will be championing the hard work and talent that exists within Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Ensure you vote soon as there are only a couple of weeks left.”
The annual event, which is attended by more than 250 amateur and professional sports people, local businesses and dignitaries, will take place on Thursday, November 23 at Sixways Stadium in Worcester.
The headline Sports Personality of the Year award is being sponsored by Bullivant Media – publisher of Observer and Standard titles – for the fourth year in succession.
