Faosiliva to miss Bath game after one-week ban

WARRIORS flanker Alafoti Faosiliva has been handed a one-week ban by the RFU.

The 30-year-old appeared before a RFU disciplinary panel last night (Wednesday) in Coventry, charged with striking with the arm and/or elbow, contrary to law 10.4(a).

Faosiliva pleaded guilty and was given the one-week ban, which will see the player miss this Saturday’s trip to Bath, but will be free to play after Sunday, September 18.

The flanker was sent off by referee Luke Pearce during last Friday’s Aviva Premiership match against Gloucester, for striking Mariano Galarza with his arm and/or elbow.

The incident occurred in the second half of the game and was referred to the TMO for review, before the back rower was dismissed.

The RFU disciplinary panel comprised of chairman Dan White, John Brennan and Tony Wheat.
