EXPERIENCED flanker Phil Dowson insists Worcester Warriors’ work this season is far from over as they prepare to take on two of the Aviva Premiership’s top four in Leicester Tigers and Saracens.

The England international, who joined the Sixways outfit in 2015 after six successful years with 2014 Premiership champions Northampton Saints, said he and his Warriors team-mates wanted to finish the season strongly against the league’s high-flyers who will both in action in the European Champions Cup semi-finals this weekend.

“We want to finish the campaign as high as possible to show we’re competing with the best in the league and some of the best in Europe,” said the 34-year-old.

“If we can keep proving ourselves again and again it’ll bleed into our pre-season and effect the way we start our next campaign, so we want to finish strongly and give the fans something to shout about. No extra motivation is needed.

“Coming off the back of ten games on the bounce takes it out of you mentally and physically.

“There was an element of fatigue, so the recent break from action was just what we needed to feel fresh and ready for our final run in,” Dowson added.
