WORCESTERSHIRE CCC all-rounder Ethan Brookes is on the shortlist for the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) player of the month award for July.

Brookes enjoyed a fine end to the T20 Blast group stages and also impressed for the Pears in the County Championship.

He scored 440 runs and took four wickets to earn 162.91 MVP points. The 24-year-old won two match MVP accolades.

Brookes scored 227 runs against rivals Warwickshire which included a career-best first class score of 140 to pick up 61.99 MVP points.

That came after Brookes scored 50 runs from just 18 balls against Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the T20 Blast competition.

Brookes is up against Lancashire’s Chris Green, Leicestershire’s Rehan Ahmed and Surrey’s Will Jacks for the award.

A 50:50 split between the PCA MVP Rankings and the public vote will decide the winner of the PCA player of the month award.
