WORCESTERSHIRE have announced the signing of West Indian all-rounder Hayden Walsh.

Walsh joins the club as a replacement for Pakistan spinner Usama Mir, who was unable to obtain a Non Objection Certificate (NOC) for his planned stint with the Rapids.

The 32-year-old leg-spinning all-rounder brings a wealth of experience to the Rapids with an impressive track record in 23 ODIs and 39 T20 Internationals.

Walsh said: “I am thrilled to join Worcestershire and be part of such a prestigious club.

“Both Jason (Holder) and Alzarri (Joseph) have said a lot of good things about the club and the group of players, and I look forward to contributing to the team’s success and showcasing my skills in front of the supporters at Visit Worcestershire New Road.

“It’s an exciting opportunity, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Worcestershire CEO Ashley Giles added: “We are incredibly pleased to welcome Hayden to the Worcestershire family.

“Hayden is a versatile and talented cricketer whose skills will be a great asset to our squad.

“He comes with a glowing reference from Jason, which speaks volumes about his abilities and character.

“While it’s unfortunate that Usama couldn’t join us, we are confident that Hayden will fit in seamlessly and make a valuable contribution to our campaign.”
