WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids Women continued their perfect start to the season with a 63-run victory against Leicestershire.
The Rapids posted 265-8 from their 50 overs at Uppingham School as Clare Boycott (75) and Amy Wheeler (70 not out) impressed at the crease.
Worcestershire recovered from the early loss of opener Gwen Davies (2) as Boycott anchored the innings with six boundaries during a 161-ball stay.
And Bryony Gillgrass (36) then came to crease to blast some quickfire runs from just 19 balls.
Wheeler provided late impetus as she cleared the boundary three times in an explosive knock to leave Leicestershire needing 266 runs for victory.
In reply, Leicestershire skipper Becky Brooker (57) put up a valiant effort with the ball although Worcestreshire took wickets at regular intervals.
Wheeler (3-40) starred with the ball as Leicestershire finished on 202-7 from their 50 overs well short of the required total.
That came after the Rapids cruised to a dominant 114-run win against Yorkshire in their opening fixture of the season at Headingley.
