WORCESTERSHIRE CCC have confirmed overseas player Ben Dwarshuis will not join up with the club’s T20 Blast side this season.

Dwarshuis recently earned a contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has additional commitments with Cricket Australia throughout 2026.

Cricket Australia have withdrawn Dwarshuis from his planned spell with the Rapids to manage his workload.

Worcestershire CEO, Ashley Giles said: “While we’re naturally disappointed that Ben won’t be joining us this summer, we completely understand and respect Cricket Australia’s decision to prioritise his long-term workload management.

“Ben has worked incredibly hard to earn his opportunities at the highest level and we congratulate him on securing his IPL deal.

“We’d like to thank Ben and his representatives for their professionalism throughout, and we remain hopeful we can work together in the future.”

Worcestershire have confirmed the club are now working to secure a replacement overseas player for the T20 Blast season.
