WORCESERTSHIRE CCC have raised £5,579 in the club’s first-ever men’s and women’s player sponsorship auction with half of the proceeds to go directly to the JB33 Foundation.
Some 112 supporters and businesses took part in the week-long auction with each winning bidder to exclusively sponsor a Worcestershire player for the 2025 season.
The Pears opening batter Jake Libby attracted the highest number of bids while rising women’s star Amy Maund and local favourite Ed Pollock also proved popular.
And the club confirmed they will donate half of the funds raised to the JB33 Foundation – created in memory of Worcestershire spinner Josh Baker.
Worcestershire’s men’s captain, Brett D’Oliveira said: “It’s amazing to see so many get behind the player sponsorships, especially with part of the proceeds going to the JB33 Foundation.
“Josh was such a big part of our team, and this is another way his memory lives on at New Road.
“A huge thank you to everyone who got involved.”
Women’s Rapids captain Chloe Hill added: “To have our women’s players included for the first time was really special.
“The support shown across both squads has been brilliant, it shows how much the whole club matters to our fanbase and the business community.
“We’re incredibly grateful.”
