WORCESTERSHIRE CCC have confirmed pace-bowler Ben Gibbon has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old joined the club in 2022, signing his first professional deal with the county following a spell with Cheshire.

He made his Pears debut in May 2022 against Durham and took two wickets in the first innings.

Gibbon said: “I am absolutely delighted to be staying on at Worcestershire, this club has become home for me over the last couple of years.

“I am really keen to develop my skillset, and ultimately, get into a position to challenge for trophies with this team.

“When you start to get a taste for it, you want it more and more, and with so many of the lads becoming close mates of mine, I am keener than ever to grow as a player and make some memories with them.”

Worcestershire head coach, Alan Richardson added: “Ben has continued to grow and develop since joining the squad a couple of years ago.

“Despite having limited opportunities in that time, he has shown his potential every time he has been called upon.

“He possesses some great qualities which provide our bowling attack with something slightly different.

“His height and his left-arm nature make him a real threat to batters at the crease, and we are excited about what he can achieve moving forward.”

Gibbon has taken 49 first-class wickets for Worcestershire and recorded best figures of 4-87 against Glamorgan in the 2022 campaign.
