WORCESTERSHIRE will play two three-day pre-season friendlies ahead of the start of the 2025 season.

The Pears will take on Loughborough University and Glamorgan before the start of this season’s County Championship.

Worcestershire will host Loughborough at Kidderminster’s Chester Road ground with the match to start on Thursday, March 20.

Pears players Rehaan Edavalath and Tom Hinley are currently studying at Loughborough.

Alan Richardson’s side then make the trip to Cardiff to take on Glamorgan with the game to begin on Tuesday, March 25.

The Pears will then have one week to finalise their preparations before travelling to Somerset for their County Championship Division One opener on Friday, April 4.

Worcestershire head coach Richardson said: “Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we can get some good cricket in.

“But I’d be really confident anyway with the guys who have been away playing all winter.

“They would have had plenty of cricket while our training camp at Desert Springs will be good for the other lads who have stayed in this country for the winter.

“The plan is for us all to report back on March 17 for training at Kidderminster ahead of the games with Loughborough and Glamorgan.

“Then it gives us a week prior to our first Championship match when we can continue to train and get ourselves ready for that first game down at Taunton.”
